I have a 2014 Bennington 21SLX with a Mercury 150 4-stroke. I noticed when cruising that an "H" or "R" was displayed to the left of the engine hours on the tachometer. I can find no documentation on the tach and it is not obvious who manufactured the tach. Is it some kind of alarm code?

Mine has an hour glass next to the hour display to show that it is on and running. I’ve never heard of the H or an R, but it could be a code or something as you said.

Only thing I can think of is H for hours and R for RPM's..... Does the # change?!?

I don't think so but I wasn't watching that close. Next time out I will look closer. Good thought though. I wish there was more info on these gauges.

Picture would be helpful if you can supply.

Check your original owners docs, I was provided my gauge instructions when I purchased my boat.

Get in the helm if not already and see if there is a make and serial # on the back of the gauge, only so many manufacturers out there (Faria Beede, VDO, etc.).

R could be for range i.e. trip distance or fuel remaining.
