Here are a few photos of my Bennington as she closes in on her eighth birthday.
We live on an electric-only lake in north Alabama. We use her a couple of times a month from October through January and four or five times a month February through September. We cover her in between uses and very seldom does she remain uncovered overnight.
She looks great for an eight year old.
There are a couple of cosmetic signs of age. Photos show a couple of cracks in the upholstery and deterioration of the finish on the Kicker control. There’s also a controller under the captain’s chair that has broken twice. Bennington replaced it the first time. I did not ask for a second replacement.
The boat cover does not last forever. In fact, I have replaced it twice. The Bimini will probably require replacement sometime soon.
I bought the boat with a Torqedo motor which turned out to be troublesome and had to be replaced after two years. The Minn Kota replacement works well and is reliable but does not have much power.
Despite my disappointment with the Torquedo and mild disappointment with the durability of the boat cover, I am extremely pleased with this boat and all the pleasure it has brought my family.
