My steering wheel feels like it is beginning to loosen up. It feels like something needs to be tightened in the steering column. I hate to take the boat out of the water and trailer to the dealer if this is an easy fix. Has anyone had this issue? If you remove the 5 allen screws from the wheel will this allow access to the culprit?

You'll need to find out exactly where the looseness is,and it will take 2 people to do it. One to turn the wheel and the other to inspect all areas of the steering linkage. If the wheel is actually loose then taking the wheel off should expose a nut that may need to be tightened. Hope this helps!

Yes as long as it is just the steering wheel all you have to do is remove the five allen screws to remove the cover to allow acces to the steering head bolt. Be carefull taking out the allens they are tiny and easy to strip.

As it turns out.....On the 20SLI all you have to do is pop the circular Bennington logo off the steering wheel and the nut to tighten the steering wheel is exposed. 3/4" socket. Very easy fix. Thanks for the input.
