Love the concept, but I'm afraid of forks lifting a Tritoon onto dry storage racks in a warehouse and vice versa when putting it on the water.

Any thoughts ?

Some Marinas won't even do it on a Tritoon I'm told. It appears other owners don't like the idea any more than I do.
 
When we first moved here we inquired at the local Bennington dealer about keeping our I/O tritoon in their "boatel". We quickly found out that because of the shape of the motor pod the forklifts didn't have enough room between the toons to get in there and safely pick it up. So there went that idea. But we have many boatels on this lake filled to capacity with pontoons and tritoons so the concept works. On the other hand I've heard stories of toons being scratched/damaged by the forklifts. Just ask Nautical.
 
I quess availability of alternative options, and generally the level of competence, care and trustworthiness I have with the dealer/marina/storage facility would probably impact my level of concern. If they are careful and trustworthy, as well as nicely insured, then I‘d try not to worry about it unless you have a better alternative. It’s tough turning these expensive boats over to someone else for storage, but at least then they and their insurance own the liability on making a problem under their stewardship right. Of course, your own good backup insurance helps with ease of mind too.
 
Depends on the experience of the fork lift operator ,and the fork lift . Use the wrong lever and oops .Some ( fork lifts ) do more than up and down , side to side and tilt , some can move the forks independently and I have also seen the ones that rotate . Those I wouldn't trust .They are unloaded upon arrival from the factory with a fork lift .
 
I've had our tri-toon rack stored at our dealer since I bought it with no problems related to wayward forklifts. Of course, that doesn't mean that it can't or won't be damaged in some way, but like Vikingstaff says, that's what insurance is for. Personally, I'll take my chances verses the alternative.
 
About 15 years ago an operator was trying to retrieve a 24' sailboat from the fourth level of our local indoor storage building. I believe the boat was not centered when he picked it up and when he turned to back out, the boat (with a lead keel) shifted and the whole forklift tipped over. By some miracle, no one was hurt. I only write to point out accidents do happen.
 
Hell, I have a two toon and it still has f/l scuffs. Not bad, but it’s all in the operator...
