Mercruiser Smart Gauges "Lost Engine Com"

Both smart gauges went out last weekend. Gauges worked fine week before as soon as I turned them on got "Lost Engine Com" I checked all connections I could find on wiring harness and fuses but no help,any ideas?

If the gauges can display that error, power and ground are good. The only remaining connection is the common path from the gauges to the engine. I'd check the engine side first figuring vibration could have loosened a connection, and work back towards the helm looking for pinched wire.

Thanks for the reply , I'll keep checking its just figuring out which cable goes where.

x2 on what Jim said, but if it is not something obvious, call your dealer and have them check it out.

It is a complex system that needs to be diagnosed with the proper equipment, and it's under warranty!
