Hey Everyone, first time poster from SE Michigan. Longtime boaters, but always fiberglass boats. This is our first pontoon. We sold our bayliner element e16 and purchased a used 2018 24' SSBXP and take delivery in a couple weeks.
I really like the Minn Kota deckhand 40; we anchor a lot at the sand bar and this would be very helpful as we have a small child and the more convenience, the better!

has anyone installed it and ran the wiring themselves? would you mind sharing your experience? I have a very limited experience running wires for adding speakers, but the helm was already wired for them. I'm feeling pretty confident that I can figure this out, but I wanted to hear from those who have done it.

thanks!

Welcome! I put Minn Kota in the search box, had 10 pages of results. This will provide you a direct connect to users that may not frequent this site, but who have provided feedback on the device. You can also send them messages; they might get notifications and provide follow up. Sand Bar - our sand bar requires a front and rear anchor, as they are giant wind sales and move around significantly more than the VHulls.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your soon to arrive 2018 SSBXP! We have a 2017 SSBXP SPS tritoon ourselves. Absolutely LOVE the layout. Hope it serves your family as well as it serves ours. Bi-toon or tritoon? Motor? Any pictures you want to share after you get it ? Please do!

Lots of other Michiganders in the forum. Where in SE Michigan are you located, or where to do predominately boat? We’re up on Houghton Lake, and we have a number of Michigan members spread out across the state.

Ditto advice above on searching the forum and reaching out to individuals that have added them. There’s a good group of smart and helpful members that have.

thank you to both of you! I'll go through the search bar with a fine tooth comb.

it's a bi-toon but has elliptical toons? that's new for me; I didn't realize that was a thing! looks like it's going to be a little challenge to get the bunks right on our trailer but the dealer offered to do it (for a nominal fee of course....)

all the pics I have are at the dealer so I'll post when we actually get some lake time.

we're in Oakland county with access to Middle straits lake through our HOA. But we have a cottage in Oscoda on Lake Huron so we plan to try that and do Champagne hill / lumberman's monument area.

thanks again!

The challenge with the ellipticals is that the centerline on the tubes is narrow than 3 tube or normal round 2 tubes layout. Our Hoosier trailer does not have enough adjustment to narrow the bunks enough. It is close and we tow 1000 miles a year so it works. The boat does not care that is not perfect.
