Mooring anchor recommendations for G22

By the way, thanks for posting that picture. I don't have my own dock, yet, and i never would have thought a short dock could work like that so well. It will be years before I have my own dock, but now I won't be afraid of a short one. Nice job!

Sunedog - I'm not trying to make you mad at me like I seem to be good at doing lately, and I read your post three times to be sure I didn't miss it, but if you have no starboard side gate why not dock on the port side?

Absolutely no offense taken.

We could dock on the port side, and we could center the boat on the dock. I even added two u-bolts in the port side skirt for that purpose while I had it on the trailer. But we have always docked facing out towards big water to make leaving easier. When we got this new-to-us boat, we tried docking the opposite way as you suggest. Visibility is an issue, but I'm sure we would get used to it after a while. But we're going to try this approach for a while. As long as the boat doesn't want to pull the dock loose, I think we'll continue this way. Those are thick wall 2 1/2" ID pipes driven into the lake bed. They hold the dock pretty well.
