Motor surge

Hello

I haven’t posted before but visit frequently for answers on random things.

I am at a loss with an issue I am having with my 2012 Bennington 25.75 QCW IO mercrusier 350

The boat will idle all day long and drive for a period of time nothing specific and be fine but will then randomly surge or surge and then die. The only way for it to start back up after it’s issue is buy shutting off the master power switch and then turning back on and then the boat will start up again ( the problem has happened intermittently for 2-3 days now while out on the water ) there are no error codes thrown.


Just curious if anyone has any ideas on what may be the issue or has had any problems similar to this

Before you get too deep into fuel pump or over-heating/electrical connection/ignition issues, check the fuel/water separator. Water buildup there can cause most or all of what you have. (cycling the fuel pump power can get enough fuel through to run at low power) That said, inadequate fuel pump output is a player.
