I had made a mistake and got in a rush and messed up the steering. The most still turns but like an older car without power steering. The cable is still intact to the the engine. My husband is physically disable. I am not a mechanic but I understand how things go together and work together.
Because of my husband’s disabilities, I will be the one getting under the helm and doing any removal or part replacement necessary. I am a 62 year old woman and I would really appreciate someone who is willing to make suggestions and talk me through this. This maybe my last chance to have my husband out on the lake with me.
Thank you in advance for your assistance Sherrie

There are some very knowledgeable people in the forum that should be able to provide some insight. To help them before they do, what type of steering to do you have? Cable? Hydraulic? Power Assist Hydraulic? Also, you mentioned you were in a rush and messed something up. Are you able to provide any details or pictures of what happened that might help clue people in as to what advice to provide?

I hope you can get some good information to assist if taking it into a boat tech/mechanic is not an option.
