Just found this on the Accessory Page! 10" sub, 400W amp, custom enclosure - made for Bennignton!! Sized for under-seat installation (though specs and instructions give two different heights - 10" vs 9"). A very interesting option! I still understand placing a bass inside the molded thick plastic seat box is NOT optimal - seems under the Helm or SB would be better!??, if not just on the deck itself? Anyone have this on their Bennington yet that can provide some feedback?

My boat came with one. IMO, don't waste your time. For what they want for it, you can do much better. It also takes up an entire storage compartment under one of the front seats. If I can relocate mine someplace that doesn't take up valuable space, I may keep it just to fill in a little mid base but I'm definitely adding a real sub. The 10" JL Powerwedge that I installed in my golf cart performs much better and is less than half the price.

Thank you LD50! Have you looked at / considered the JL Stowaway, a marine grade sub? Seems this could a great unit for under the swingback front compartment. BUT, can't find a single pontoon user.

No direct experience with the stowaway but it uses the same sub as my power wedge. Both enclosures are obviously tuned to the sub with the difference being that the power wedge having the amp built in. I'm guessing the performance is similar in both. The power wedge probably has the edge of convenience and simplicity whereas the stowaway's enclosure would probably withstand the elements better. There would be more flexibility with the stowaway not having a built in amp. The power wedge has a 400w amp. I'm guessing that's peak power and the RMS is between 200-300. You could probably drive the stowaway a little harder with a bigger amp if you're reasonable about it. It's not overwheming by I've been impressed with my power wedge for what it is.

If you do go with the stowaway and an amp, I'd highly recommend something with a bass remote knob as an option.

For this boat, I think I'm going to go with the power wedge that has the 13.5" TW5 driver and run it with a 600w amp.

LD50 - I see the PowerWedge comes either powered or passive - so there are options! I assume you would install this with some type of spacer to keep the carpeted cover off the floor, and install it under the Helm. Thoughts on the lack of "element ready" connectors / internal build?
