Just order my new boat last week, 22' SLX with a 150 Yamaha was wondering if the performance reviews posted on the Yamaha site are accurate. I order the boat with the 2 tube 32" Elliptical setup with strakes. Also does anyone know just how much difference there is, in the open area under the boat between standard 25" tubes and 32" Elliptical tubes side to side. Meaning just how much bigger are the 32" tubes. I only see this area to be about 7 inches less than with the 25" tubes. But I maybe wrong.

Well each toon is 7" wider so 14" over all off the inside dimension. Boat should be in the low 40's

Ah let me see, 32-25=7 divided x 2=3.5 one side + 3.5 other side =7"  That's lost space under the boat. I'm wondering why it's so important to know how much space you'll lose or gain by the size toons you'll have? Unless your going to have a lot of people on board all the time there's nothing wrong with the standard 25" and you'll save money. 32" will weigh more and give you more drag, lifts won't get you anymore speed unless you get into the 200HP range

Just my .02

In order to put the 150 HP on you have to move up to the 32's With the 25" tubes the most HP you can put on is 115. The reason for wanting to know is dry rack slips are limited on our lake and the slip I have now was built for a runabout. The marina stores pontoons in these slips, but does not remove the cradles that the runabouts sit on. In turn they can not store 3 tube boats, but the 2 tube boats work well in the slots due to the fact the cradle is sitting in between the 2 tubes. I traded in a Crest 230 which has been stored there for years, but with the extra wide tubes I was a little concerned, but I do not feel like the 3.5 inches on each side will make much difference.

That assumes the 32s stick out 3.5 inches on the outside. Is that how they really are positioned? Or is the outer edge flush with the rub rail?

Thanks for all the feedback from everyone, I was able to find out what I need to know by looking under the trailer specs posted on this web site. I have gone ahead and order the boat it should be here in about 5 weeks so they say. Hopefully we will be able to take one good ride before it gets to cold

Distance between tubes is 38" vs 52" on their 25" tube, so yes it is 14" less. Overall width remains @ 102" regardless.

The twin ellipticals is a fast hull (slightly faster than the SPS pkg) Great straight line boat.

However this hull is horrible if you do any high speed maneuvering.

Turning at speed creates an outside roll worse than that of Buick Roadmaster!

One nice feature, the 32" tubes are .1 rather than the .080 of the 25" tubes. (I am sure this is needed for rigidity)
