Ok I have a 2012 2575 QCW & In my option my captains chair’s swivel situation is Not acceptable any more. I wanted to see what options exist for 2025.

I’m wondering if they have some of a Mechanical swivel something that’s more rugged and doesn't have the slop my current set up has and wears out, my current one uses a hard plastic bushing that wears and becomes sloppy.

Now the Next question is Has Anyone replaced their entire captains chair pedestal. I seem to remember finding out or Thinking that my Captains chair is “Threw Bolted” into the floor & you have to remove the Aluminum under skirt on the underside of my boat to get access to the Nuts that hold the captains chair pedestal. I hope that this is not the case. Any info would be great.

Can't speak for your boat, but my 2020 has through-bolted pedestal as noted. With the underskinning it would obviously be a chore to change but you may be able to use a long box wrench from the side under the rub rail to hold the nut. Good luck getting new ones in! Or just sawzall a hole in the skirting and patch.

The chair parts are Springfield Marine but the upholstery is probably custom. You can swap out some things using the existing pedestal and chair and get it back to spec, it's just a series of screws/bolts and modular if you check out the Springfield Marine catalog/parts.

Hey I know. It’s winter time and it’s time for me to do my Winter time Improvements for Summer 2026. I have more coming.
Hey Poto: Thanks for your reply. I didn’t think about access from the side. I have taken off the 24foot Aluminum side panel that is at the top of the toon and just below the rub rail b4. It’s no big deal with 2 people. Fingers crossed that I could reach in and get the stock Seat Pedestal removed. Honestly that’s the worst part of the job. I’ll see if Springfield has a newer bigger badder version. My seat has has failed 2x so I’m not a big fan of spring field. But I think the stock seat pedestal, and bracket was installed from the factory in the wrong place. I’ll explain for long-term wear and tear. It’s best to have the seat pedestal directly in the center of the seat. I’m 6 foot two and have the seat scooted back which makes it really hard on the pedestal cause it’s more like the pedestal is now not in the center of the seat. Most of the weight is over the back causing more wear than I think it was designed for. So In my opinion bennington mounted the seat pedestal to far forward and when I scoot the seat back now it’s really hard on the pedestal. I think the only fix is to just upgrade to a bigger thicker one. Here is a recent pic of my seat pedestal just for reference

yes - through bolted- I believe its 5 bolts/washers/nuts. Easy to do if no under skin. if ss skin you have to drill out the rivets, remove panel then reinstall. you can likely find a replacement on e-bay

MrG - makes sense that there is off center load constantly bearing on the hardware (not calling you fat! :D)... I'd look through their catalog first and see if there is a heavier-duty swivel/slider that can swap right in. Keep the pedestal and keep the chair.

I'm sure there is a solution here. Moving the pedestal back a few inches is the Cadillac option for sure, but you'll have other things to resolve like concealing the old mounting bolt holes and avoiding and cross members below deck.
