Newbie need advice on FishFinder and pulling tubes

What did you choose on the Lowrance?  Did you get the Elite 5?  There seem to be several models with letters after the 5.  Which one did you get?  The Elite 5 was recommended to me too but I'm not sure which one they meant.  I'm more interested in navigation capabilities than fish finding but I'm sure I'll have guests that will want to fish.
