Noise from Helm when steering wheel is moved

Hi, I have a 2022 Tritoon. 200 Yamaha. It has power steering. It was some type of upgrade that came with the boat. I am the second owner. The Boat had 140 hours on it. I purchased it this year back in May. I’ve had it out about six times. I live in Pensacola Florida and take it out on the intercoastal.
I have a whining noise in it when I move this steering wheel. Is this normal? With a vehicle, if I heard the whining noise when I was steering, I would suspect a problem.

It is probable that the whining noise is normal. When the electro-hydraulic power assist pump is located in the fiberglass console it is noisy. Oftentimes on pontoons the assist pump will be located under a seat for this reason. Peek into the console while steering to confirm location.

Mine does the same thing with the seastar electric pump under the helm.

Mine does that two when you get towards the extreme end of turning it in each direction. It’s the sea star power assist pump under the helm. I had the same thoughts and feelings when we first got our boat. It threw me off at first.
