So this is my first boat and I am already thinking about what happens to my boat when the weather starts to turn. I have it in a covered slip on Lake Lewisville and it will be on a lift. Any advise on any additional winterization necessary? I don't have a trailer or anywhere else to store the boat. Plus, I would like to be able to take it out a few times over the winter to go fishing.

Keep Stabil in the fuel and a Battery Tender on the battery. That's what I do just in case we get a nice day in winter. We've been out on Christmas and New Years.

Oh yeah, change the oil and filter and the lower unit gear lube. A coat of wax wouldn't hurt either. :D

What Carl said but..............what kind of motor do you have? Outboard or I/O?????? You must have an outboard if you're talking about fishing over the winter.........

Yes, Yamaha F150 outboard. Thanks for the tips!

I keep ours full and stabilized in winter.

Thanks Carl, I have always filled mine up and assumed the marina put the stabilizer in. I will make it a point to ask from now on.
