Next to boating, my grandson's favorite activity this summer has been playing on a Miracle League baseball team. It's kind of like T-ball for children of all ages and differing abilities who otherwise wouldn't/couldn't play on a more traditional team.

Each player is paired with a buddy who "plays" alongside in the field and during batting/running.

Their dedicated field is finer than any field in the sports complex.

Whenever I get disgusted with the state of our current affairs, I get much encouragement by thinking of the folks who make these kinds of opportunities available for kids!

Nice!!

It's stories like this that restores your faith in our country. And the great opportunities that we have available to all of us. God bless this nation!

Great to hear GoldenRod

Awesome !!

It's great to hear a positive story!!  All you see on TV anymore is mostly bad or heartbreaking stories!  I'm active in the fight to stop the dog meat trade and some days you just feel you can't do it anymore.  So it's great to actively search for "good or great" stories!

Nice to hear this, thanks.

Baseball and Boating nothing more pure and American.  This is a great thing!

My handicapped nephew plays in a similar league in Maryland. He doesn't let the fact that being in a wheelchair stop him from playing. He just competed in the Maryland Special Olympics with much success!
