Opinions from those using 303 Aerospace Protectant on Simtex

A lot of you are aware the manufacturer of Simtex fabric used to say 303 Aerospace Protectant was not an approved product to be used on Simtex and using it could void the warranty. But I'm positive I read somewhere on this forum that Spalding now approves of 303 Aerospace Protectant on Simtex fabric. I searched but can't find the exact post. I did a deep clean of the Simtex interior on my 2017 23RSB today and the seats look great. I'm just toying with the idea of hitting them with 303 Protectant for the first time ever.

What I want to know is, for those who are using it on Simtex, how is it performing? Does it make the seats look any different? (E.G. shiny, alter the color or hue?) Is it worth the effort to use it? Does it seem easier to keep the fabric clean? How often are you re-applying?

I am interested in opinions from those who are actually using it on Simtex.

Please don't confuse my questions with other 303 products such as their fabric guard or cleaner.

Thanks!

Only one way to know for sure .

I would like to know myself .
On a side note I am considering trying it on my vinyl house siding ,to find out if it will prevent the hard water spots from my irrigation system .

So when I purchased my boat my white and brown seats had 303 on them from it being a dealer demo and the dealer swearing by it. I kept noticing my brown inlay on my seats kept looking white and milky when when I would sit down after jumping into the water. It would take a while for the haze to go away. even in direct sun. I have sense cleaned all of 303 from my seats and will only apply it to the white portions of the seats now.

When I used 303 FABRIC GUARD on my Simtex, the white came from using too much 303, mine mainly showed up in the folds where the seat cushion butted up into the backrests which left a white residue in those areas. I clean my Simtex with diluted Simple Green in 5 gallon bucket; (about an inch of Simple Green in the bottom of the bucket) and wash mitt, followed by heavy rinse. No issues. 303 kind of acts like Scotchguard, it does provide water proofing and helps with clean up.

My research into this topic: our Simtex is a combination of products (the fabric and a protectant). The Spradling literature indicates the 303 Protectant is approved for the Simtex, and then the PermaBlock3 is also 303 approved. One reference to Silvertex indicated it also uses SilverGuard Ion Tech. I have included the newer literature in 2023 that I found. I also included the 2020 Approved Cleaners related to the PermaBlok and PermaGuard which both listed the 303 Cleaner as approved, but it states the cleaner should be diluted - AND - seemed to be for the Vinyl products and not specified for the Simtex. I have concluded Simtex and Silvertex are probably the same product, but not 100%. I also included the brochures I found on the Silvertex and Simtex specs. I find it disappointing that Bennington does not provide clarity on the topic, at least none that I have been able to find.

I've used 303 both cleaner and protectant since 2015 and my seats are probably as good or better than any 10-year-old boat I know. But I try to keep them out of the sun as much as possible when not out on the water. I intent to keep using it....

What model do you have again Stbentoak? What kind of vinyl fabric do you have? Was Simtex a fabric option on any line in 2015? Perhaps I am wrong, but I didn’t think so. Perhaps it was on the top tier 2015 Q’s.

2015 2575 QCW.... It had top of the line seating at that time, quilted bolsters etc. I can't really be sure it Simtex. But mostly 303 products have served me well over the years.....
