I am having problems with my power steering locking up at low or idle speeds. This has caused problems docking and loading my boat. It is a 2009 Bennington with a Yamaha 250. I have had the lines bled and the problem returns. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure all the electrical connections are tight. Anything loose with a shake at idle will cause you to loose the power assist. Just a thought!

Was there air in the system when it was bled? How are the seals on the actuator by the engine? Any visible leaks?

I had the same problem with mine and found out the Sea Star had a recall on some power steering pumps and mine was fixed under the recall.

You could try to contact Seastar ,its possible the recall could have been expanded ,that bulletin is almost 5 years old .
