Prop damage

I just got mine back from the repair shop. Welding, straightening, balancing and painting was $80. It would have been $150 for a new one. It looks good as new.

In my book, any repair that's less than the cost of new is a deal.

My SS2 Yamaha prop has small dings and a couple chips on the edge. What is the rule of thumb for repair/replace?
My rule of thumb would be...........if your dinged up prop made any vibrations or didn't run like it did before the damage...........fix it! If you can't tell or it runs fine..........leave it alone! Fix it in the off season.

Or you could keep it as a spare & buy a shiney new stainless. A little pricey, but better performance.

Unless it is already stainless, then repair it!
