Hello. everyone New Member from Wisconsin along the Mississippi, happy I found this forum lots of great info here.

We have been looking at pontoons and wanting to buy looked at many brands. Bennington won out as by far the best IMO.

So the long wait begins til spring, stopped at dealer last week and boat is currently being built hoping to get a peek at it in January its going to be so worth it.

We settled on a 2016 22SSRX, Black with bronze accents, Napa interior, vinyl flooring, express tritoon pkg., tilt steering, upgraded dual captains chairs, kicker speaker upgrade, Garmin 101, espresso teak accents, Mercury 115hp Command Thrust, and New Tandem axle Trailer.

I shopped around the upper Midwest but ended up buying from local dealer, because of best price and their quality of service is second to none, very happy to deal with.

The deal came to 27k + 3k for trailer + tax and registration title fees, from what others say on here I think I did alright Benningtons boat builder listed out at 41,100 so came in at  around 34% off list price.

Congrats and make sure and post some pics when you get it.

Congrats on the new boat but trust me, you'll want to spring for a 150. IMHO

You are going to love it! I just picked up my SSRX last weekend and took it to the lake. I don't know how well the 115 will do but I am very pleased with the 150.

Your right

I was second guessing the not springing for the 150 after reading on here about the vast difference in power, buy the time I was discovering this site the build was in and I didn't bother to see about making a change, I'm sure the dealer would have done what I wanted tho, but the other side was cost ie.

(Full 3 log upgrade to allow the 150 hp + power steering + the motor its self) so I think I would have pushing 38-39k and It was really more than I wanted to spend, I'm sure it would have been the ultimate package.

My brother has a Sea Ray with 5.0 Mercruser for water sports. so I didn't price my boat with a ski tow bar, I plan on just cruising 15-20mph.

I will say when the dealer took us out on a similar pontoon with the new 115 Command Thrust It had no problem pushing us, its a totally redesigned engine with

2.1 liters  of displacement vrs old 1.8 liter design and 150 hp lower end and able to spin the big 150 hp props.

Nice. Welcome.

You made a great choice & will love it!

I would suggest.......

Rub Rail

Docking Lights

and I would do the Ski/Tow bar on anything with the center rear gate as it also serves very well as a handrail while walking around the stern area.

Turns out to be a very Merry Christmas for you

Great idea about the ski bar as a handrail,

can these be installed post build?

Rub rail and led docking lights were 2 things

I did add after initial build and am glad I did

The anticipation must be killin you! Spring will be here before you know it!

It would NOT be easy to bolt on after the build due to the under skinning. The last 6 feet or more of the boat is completely covered on the Express tube package. I would see if you can add it during the build. I agree 100% with the handle comment especially if you have an extended deck. Plus it's like a roll cage and helps protect your motor. You could attach rod holders to it too.

Congrats on the purchase.

Welcome to the family! Nice Christmas present. You will love your boat. Don't worry about all the stuff you could have bought, rather enjoy what you did buy. You'll notice a lot of suggestions and "should haves" and "could haves", but no offers to help share the costs. ;-)

It's still nice to get advice though- many of these guys have forgotten more about pontoons than I'll ever learn.

Correct Tooner and not just about pontoons; I have forgotten way more than I ever learned

Congrats and enjoy the new boat!

I too have a tow bar with the Express Package. I had to remove the tow bar to get the boat into storage for clearance. It was a hassle but mostly due to the nylon nuts needing persuasion to the last thread! As for the under skinning; it is merely held on with self tapers which can be removed for access. Installing the tow bar post build is very doable.

I like this statement. No matter how big you go, or how much you spend, there will always be someone with something bigger and better and more expensive. Get what you want and just wave as the bigger and faster rigs go by.
