Pulling tubes and skiers from stern u-bolts

Hello all,

In a long-ago post, it was stated that owners could pull tubes and skiers from the stern u-bolts located on either side of the transom of some Bennington models.   This was suggested as an alternative for folks who did not purchase a ski tow bar or pylon with the boat.   

Our Engineering Team has pointed out that this is NOT RECOMMENDED, and that we suggest factory-designed ski tow bars and pylons.

What are the stren u-bolt for then?

I use them for strapping the boat to the trailer.
