Hey guys - Just joined and have a question. Was planning to buy this model late next year, but a dealer in my areas has one in stock that seems to be a great deal -- maybe?

It has the Merc 400 Verado, ESP+ Perf package, 8 speaker cladded arch, lifting strakes, etc, etc for $189k plus taxes. That is well below MSRP, but maybe that is normal for the higher end models - not sure (?).

For those of you who have looked at or bought the 25' QX models like this, would you say this is a great price, a good price, or more of an average price? If I could get a similar price next year then I would rather wait, but if it is some crazy good price then I might think about getting now.

Thanks in advance for your advice!!

If that's what you want and you think its a deal is all that matter's. The higher the model line the larger the % off is . But you can ( usualy) order the next model year in June/July . So that 1 is about 2 years old . If it were me ,I'd go back and offer less based on it being just about a 2 year old boat. I'll see if I can find it, but I think the warranty might be different on a boat that's been at the dealer for a while.

Okay thanks much, Jack -- I didn't realize that it is close to a 2 year old boat. Based on what you posted it looks like the warranty will automatically be triggered to start soon here.

They are displaying it as $189, 990 vs. an MSRP of $269,459 -- so 29.4% lower than MSRP which sounds pretty big to me in terms of a discount, but I haven't purchased a new boat before and was curious if folks on this site might say that's a normal discount range. Given it's not a current model year then maybe it is harder to generalize like that...

I plan to only buy one boat and not trade it out, so I just want to make sure I'm getting the best possible deal when I do

You should be able to get a higher % off . Have your dealer price a 26 for you ,see what % off he offers on a new one .

For what it is worth, I purchased a new non-current in December for a little over 64% sticker. Clearly a tough time to sell boats amd the best deal I have ever found. My boat is significantly lower priced / lower option / lower HP model than what you are looking at and who buys a boat a week before Xmas. (Me )

IMHO, discounts really depend on the dealer inventory, time of year, market conditions, and mfg incentives (in addition to the higher end models having more room to negotiate given their MSRP). It can be difficult to compare given all the factors.

Pbakk -- I'm assuming the one you bought at 64% of sticker was one in stock already (vs. having the dealer order it), right? Your 36% off seems like a fantastic deal!!

I love that idea and think we'll target buying one right before Christmas too -- when boat dealers in MN can't be doing too much business. Since we hope this to be a one-time ever purchase (not a new boat in another 10 years or anything) we'd like to order one so we get exactly the options we want.

According to what I'm seeing, we should be able to target 20-30% off MSRP on a higher end QX, but again, not sure if that is only for boats in-stock or if a dealer would be willing to order one for lower margin like that...

We ordered our 2017 Bennington in early December here in Michigan. Similar thinking to you. At that time (different era in boat prices…lol) we got a phenomenal deal on a new order. These days you should have good options on either new order or 1 year old but not sold. Fall into early winter is an incredible time to buy/order in northern states.

Correct. It was on the dealer floor. I believe both Bennington and the dealer were offering incentives on the 2024’s given that they already had 2025’s. We were lucky that it had what we wanted and the color worked out ok also. We also received an extra 3 years or Warranty on the Yamaha (3 + 3) which was appreciated. The only problem is then I had to look at pictures on my phone for 5 months before we picked it up for that first ride (we are in MN).
