Raised Helm

When we bought our G25 GPD we went with a raised helm, I was told it would give me a little more height, but my seat is at same height as all the others? Did I get the wrong pedestal?

The raised helm is a 2" raised area from the compartment under the helm and extending back to just behind the captains chair.  Without it, the floor is flat where the captains chair is.  The chair pedestal is the same but the flooring where the chair is mounted is raised about 2".
