Raising ski pole on 2274 GLi

I don't think a question could get more simple ... how do I pull it up? I've turned it clockwise and counter and pulled upward, but it doesn't seem to go up very far. How far up should it go?

It should go up 6-8 inches. You just pull up, there is no locking anything in until it is all the way up, then you rotate clockwise while pulling up, you will feel it lock into place. You may just need to lubricate the smaller inner pole a bit, might have dirt or something binding it. It will be above the sun deck 4" or so when all the way up.
