I have a R 2550 - model year being 2008. Two of the rungs on the aluminum ladder have snapped off the uprights at the weld joints. I am aware that trying to reweld would only be tempting fate as they would (most likely) be weaker than before...... So, my question is with my rear mount ladder system getting access to one of the ladder brackets is blocked by one of the pontoons. Does anyone have any suggestions as to my dilemma - do I really have to remove the pontoon to get to the bracket underneath the deck of the boat?.................Of course, any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For different reasons,Im having a lillipad ladder installed this month. To me its a game changer for a boarding ladder. Its been discussed here a few times . You can do a search in the upper right corner.

A few pics of your setup would help us help you with the solution.

I do not remember what I did when I did this but it probably involved a tool extension. I would not be afraid of a weld repair as long as it is done by a experienced welder. Welding process weakens the base material but reputable manufacturers know this and design accordingly. If weak ladders where a problem it would show up first on these pages. Hope this helps.

Bearcat made my ladder for my Bennington (2017). I contacted them and they asked me to send a picture of my ladder. They had one in stock for a few hundred dollars.

Lilly pad steps for sure. They are a gamechanger! I installed them myself. Not hard if you are handy. $1299 from Lippert......$899 from Amazon. You will need to buy your own mounting hardware.
