Revolution 4 versus Enertia Results

First off this test was on a G23 with the ESP package and a 250HP Verado. Tested the Revolution 4 14 5/8 x 15 compared to the Enertia 15x15. Conclusion the Enertia is a better overall propeller in terms of efficiency and lower prop slip numbers. It produces better mid-range and top range versus the Rev 4. It exhibits much more bite than the Rev4 particularly from 3000 RPM up while the Rev 4 continues to slip badly until it gets above 5000 RPM. Interestingly both props turned 6000 at WOT. The larger blade area and slightly larger diameter of the Enertia seems to offset the extra blade of the Rev4. in terms of load. All numbers recorded digitally and off GPS. Here is the data:

Makes me wonder what a Mirage Plus 15.75x15 would do with that 250 pushing that kind of load.

Eh, probably be slightly overpropped. But maybe not.
 
I'm thinking that 250 should have a higher top end than 41. I had a Merc Mirage Plus 17P on my I/O and I would hit 41/42 4500 rpms.
 
You should be able to raise the motor with the Rev4 which could change your numbers.

Yes agree, I wondered about the Mirage Plus, but I suspect with the large blades of the enertia the difference is going to be minor and not worth the change. If I can find one for a trial I might give it a go, but otherwise the enertia seems to be about as good as it gets.
 
I'm thinking that 250 should have a higher top end than 41. I had a Merc Mirage Plus 17P on my I/O and I would hit 41/42 4500 rpms.
I thought I'd get a bit more as well, but I'm turning 6000 on the button with 10% slip, so it won't get much better. I 'm mounted in the very top hole now, so maybe going down one hole (raisning the engine a bit) might help.

I have a 2250 ESP with a Honda 250 mounted 1 hole up. I’m turning a 14.25x21 Enertia. At 6200 I’m getting 47/48 mph with a person and 1/2 tank of fuel. With 6 adults I can get 43 out of it.

47/48 is impressive that's a lot of pitch. The G23 is a much bigger rig with a bit more weight. It's 25 feet not 23 as the model suggests that may account for the difference. You're getting much higher top speed due to the higher pitch and gear ratio. I could never turn a 21P on mine . The Honda is 2:1 versus the merc at 1.85. ratio lower unit thus the higher pitch.
I may try moving up one hole to see if that eks out a bit more.
