Pittsburgh...

Check with Link. He's the one who posted the Ring of Fire pics at his lake in NY. I'm sure he has more......

Link,

Thank you so very much for the amazing pictures and you tube videos.

I have to say those fires are definitely Bon Fires (lol)

We will be doing more of a campfire situation here hopefully with a similar effect outlining the lake and the entire community.

My intent is to light the night sky with as many campfires as possible, unfortunately many homeowners leave here right after the Labor Day Holiday but we are setting Oct 15th as our date.

Hoping to post some pics on our very first Ring of Fire

Thank you once again

Good Luck Pittsburgh and keep at it, I am sure the first year of Sacandaga's Ring of Fire did not light it up as it does now.  Plan on labor day next year and I am sure it will grow over the years

Just a few pics of Our Ring of Fire

The First as anticipated wasn't anywhere close to what I would of liked to of seen but still a good turn out

Many posted their fire on our Community Web Site

A Good Time was had by all

Best of all those who leave the Lake after Labor Day have said they will come back next year to participate

Keep in mind (lol) this is a community people own their homes here , they are not building Huge Bon Fires and our Beach fronts have Rip Rap for wave dissipation. So the fires are up off the water but still accomplishing what I was setting out to do.

Weather was perfect for the event and we estimated 60 - 75 camp fires in the community.

Hoping to more than doble that total next year.

Didn't want to keep you hanging Link and others.

To me Mid - October is the perfect time for our location , earlier in the year the  activity on the Lake is too high, the night comes to late and the air is too heavy for the smoke. This time of year the smoke didnt pose any problems and attracting people back to the Lake during the slower time of year made sense.

Here's to doing it again next year

Nice job Pittsburgh.  I am sure the one at our lake 30 years ago had a modest beginning but unbelievable what it has grown in to.  It is a great way to signal the end of the boating season.
