The stock horn is definitely loud enough to startle someone sitting right in front of it. My concern is a boat heading directly toward me at high speed with a driver that's not paying attention and has his stereo on. You will wish you had the air horn in that situation. I keep the air horn in one of the cup holders next to the steering wheel.
Interesting idea Bama on the ropes with loops so you can chain them together. Never heard or seen that one before. Good idea. I keep a couple ropes velcroed to the rail right next to the helm. You never know when you will need one quick, and the velcro strap is very quick to release the rope. I will keep that idea of chaining them together in the back of my mind though. It will likely come in handy someday.
