Second Full or Auxiliary Battery

Does anyone have a picture of where they placed their added battery and the perko switch? I plan to add a second battery this coming weekend and for got to take pictures of the compartment so I could plan out what I will need for mounting. I have a 2010 2554-GCW with Yamaha 150 and the first battery is under the rear lounger - I'm hoping there is room to install another battery box right next to the first one and find a place close by for the switch. Anyone have pics that you think might be helpful. Rick

Had the dealer add the second battery and switch for peace of mind. This is at the rear starboard lounger on a 2018 22 SSRFBXP.

Buying used 2275RL. Has one battery, want to add one = 1 cranking and 1 for house. Do you recommend A Blue Sea Add-A Battery set up? Rookie here. Previous owner's son attempted to charge the 1 battery and burned up the wiring harness ( which has been replaced by qualified marine service specialist). Before the season want to add a second battery. Any recommendations. Current battery located underneath stern sun pad, behind stern benchseat. Can 2nd battery be added. Any suggestions on battery too?

I have the Blue Sea charging relay and it's awesome. It's completely hands off, and I always have a fresh starting battery. Same relay as in that kit, but without the orange switch. I found the switch unnecessary, and required a hole be cut into the boat somewhere, or at least a bunch of screws.

I put both of my batteries on a charger after being stored for the winter. The first started at 75% charged and took the charge up to 100%. The second started at 0% and would only charge up to 66% (according to the charger). When I put the switch on #1, accessory switch and other items indicate the battery is working. Same with 1+2. But with the switch on #2, I get no signs of battery life. Boat is 3 years old. Am I going to need new batteries? Thanks.

Take it to an auto parts store and have them load test it to be sure, but sounds like you need a new one. You might trickle charge them over the winter, depending how long your winter is. Or put them on the charger you already have a couple times during the winter. That should help prevent this.

Also, i wouldn't run them in parallel, or 1+2 until you get this fixed. The bad one could drain the good one and leave you stranded.
