Purchased our new 2025 2 weeks ago. Noticed after purchase that a long streak on pontoon was missing metal coating. Was shark hide used?

A picture might help, but your dealer could answer, assuming you purchased a new pontoon.

Others will probably jump in, but that looks very strange. If dealer or factory applied sharkskin or similar protection, maybe they missed a spot. Is it etched? Does it have a sticky feel like adhesive that was not cleaned off correctly? It almost looks like the skirting is moving causing a scratch, but that is unlikely. Definitely contact the dealer IMO.

Starting with the 2025 model year, Bennington started using Metal Jacket instead of sharkhide. If you ordered the boat it would have been applied at the factory. If the boat didn't come from the factory with any coating, it's possible the dealer had some left over sharkhide and applied on a trailer. Either way start by asking your dealer.

Thank you so much! This answered a lot of my questions. I have reached out to our trusted dealer and he will take it from here.
