Ship to Shore Radio

My college had it's own amateur HAM club.  Most of us in our school's 4 wheel drive club were licensed HAM operators.  Plus it was a bonus when working with the Keweenaw Search and Rescue team.  They used us quite a bit because of our capable vehicles and knowledge of the trails.  Good times.  Nice pic on the equipment.  I like the "On The Air" over the old style radio mic. Nice touch.

Thank you Todd,

It is a great hobby but has major advantages for people on the move if it is water , trails, air or roadways.

Friends of mine use it while skiing, snowshoeing and hiking.

The convenience , dependability and reliabilty is hard to match.

I have stations at each home, vehicles, boat and person routinely.

It is as easy as carrying the cell phone and there is always someone to talk to.

I should mention that once you start to dabble in this hobby it can become a quick addiction.
