I'm looking to purcahse a shore station and there is one I'm looking at that is made by Shore Station (I believe a good brand) and it has the "ToonRail" load and guide system that effectively goes between your outer toons and lift the boat from the botton of the deck. Is this ok or is it better to have the shore station lift from the bottom of the toons?
Thanks for your help.

That is a good brand lift!

Do a search in the upper right hand corner on Shorestation Toonrail system. Some members have it and they speak repeatedly in posts very positively about that combination. They strongly recommend it to others looking at lifts or others that have shore station lifts already, but are having a devil of a time putting their boat on their lift.

I don’t have this system myself, but if I were to go in a lift direction instead of my current Sea Legs, I’d personally lean into a Shorestation with Toonrails because of the recommendation of other members in here in the past.

Many if not most dealers use a scissor trailer to launch and retrieve pontoons. Your lift picks up the boat the same way. That’s a good lift. Enjoy ⚓

I've had the toon rails on my Shorestation for 7 years. I think they work great, Vikingstaff is correct it does make loading the pontoon easier. 2012 R22 with ESP

Toonrail is the way to go!
What capacity hoist do you have? I am looking to replace my old Hewitt lift with the toon rail setup, and am leaning towards the 5000 lb capacity in case I ever buy a bigger boat.

And with your toonrail, do you also need any side rails?

I have 5000 lbs. No side rails.

We had a 5000 pound 10 foot wide lift, it had side rails and the three cradles for the toons. It worked well for us because we could bump our way in if needed in tough wind and as soon as the cradles found the tunes we were locked. Just another opinion....

FWIW, bunks will require deeper water than the "ToonRail" does.
