Hello, looking for a tritoon and my wife likes the smooth panel flat matte black. I was wondering if anybody has opinions on this style and if it would be a headache to maintain regarding hard water deposits.

I have a smooth shiny black accent , water spots have not been an issue . The black motor thats a different story , I have to clean it every time out

Happy Wife Happy Boating!
I forgot which part of the boat ( seats or flooring ) my wife wanted a different color than I did. I told her ok then you will be the one cleaning it. She changed her mind. :p

Matte black wasn't an option when we bought. I see them on our lake though. They look really good. I've seen it paired with mostly shiny black and matte accents and matte black with matte red accents. Both look really good.

A lot of the boats our dealer is bringing have black seats. They look great, but I wonder if they're truly hotter than my light gray seats. My seats get toasty.

Pulled the trigger and purchased the matte black 22 SX SB with a 150 VMax. Interior is light colored. Next decision is a lift or Sea Legs. I am a little worried about the weight of tritoon Sea Legs (over 600lbs) but they have advantages.

Can’t wait to see it!

For us, the Sea Legs pros far outweigh their cons. In the end, you will lose a predictable 3-5 mph at wot with Sea Legs specifically. It will handle somewhat accordingly. Outside of that, just the battery awareness issues. Those are easily manageable as long as you are attentive to it which I think you’d be used to with your former boat set up.

Honestly, with the VMax, I think you’d see about normal 150HP performance, as the hole shot and WOT advantage of the VMax would basically be eaten up by the Sea Legs. For me, that’s not bad at all, but I get the decision to be made with them. With our Verado Pro, that’s kinda what happened to us. Our 200HP Verado Pro performance kinda turned into normal 200HP performance after adding them. Worked out pretty darn well overall in that regard.

Thanks Vikingstaff. The salesperson said I would feel like I was dragging two anchors with the Sea Legs which kinda of scared me but your experience is very helpful. Most of the time we are not WOT.

I spent way toooooo much time fretting over this topic before getting mine. Anyone with a 150 HP (what I was looking at) and up always reported the same 3 to 5.

With the 150 Vmax, I honestly wouldn’t expect you to lose more than 4mph tops compared to without them if the rest of its dialed in. That salesman might be right with a low HP motor, but they are not accurate for the HP and motor you are talking about.
