Hi everyone,
Everything has been operational since 2019, we keep our pontoon in a garage and trailer it to the water. We put it away and everything was operation with the sound system and yesterday nothing even with the unit in full operational, we could BT, get the radio on the screen but no sound. Cheick all connections, pulled the 15amp fuse which shut down everything, then put it back as a hard reboot, but still no sound out of the speakers. Mood lighting still works on the speakers.
Any suggestions would be welcome, as we need our music!
Jay

Have you checked the connections under the helm?
Any possibility of a rodent chewing wires ?

Yes been under there checking things out everything looks perfect. Confirmed the booster and subwoofer have full power. Tried the USB nothing there, Tried it again under the helm direct nothing there as well. Did a hard reset by holding the paus button for 5 seconds, no change. It has to be the unit which support doesn't open until Monday 9 est.
Totally confused.

Not sure, you think so? That would be so cool if they would, I will give a dealer here near Charlevoix a call to see it is.
Thank you.
Jay

Are you the original owner? Its a 2019 right ?

I don't have access to it right now but ,do a search in the upper right corner for the warranty statement. I thought you were the original owner, sorry.

If it has a snap on face plate, the contacts get kinda dirty. Maybe gently clean with a pencil eraser and/or cotton swab. I’m on my third radio but it still sounds awesome with our Kicker 6 speaker system. We too need our music when on the water. Good luck.

For the Rest of the story;
After working with the tech's at Kicker who were very nice and we tried everything they gave me the number of the Distributors who supply dealers of Kicker components.
So, I called the CPS Marine Distributors number they gave me and they had me open the back of the AMP and the red light was on which means it is in protection mode and the unit has to be replaced by a dealer. I called a dealer at Wallon Lake and they are looking up the part for cost however I am outside the 5 year warranty.
Thank you to everyone, I like being able to ask questions and get idea for trouble shooting things. I hope this helps the next pontoon without sound.

Jay

Was Walloon Lake the selling dealer to the original owner?

No, I got it from WI with 22HR on it, and I call them and they said that I was out of warranty for this type of repair. Wallon is very close so I will work with them. Kicker says they can repair it for between 50 to $150 depending on what is needed and time without it this weekend, but online they run about $647 not sure it's the only issue I have so waiting to hear what dealer has to say.
Decision, Decisions

Depending on the sale date it is possible it could be under warranty. If you like you could call Bennington to find out for sure 888 906 2628. If you call have your Hull ID ready.
Good Luck

Hello everyone who has followed this story about the Kicker AMP going into protection mode causing no sound out of the speakers and has to be replaced. The story gets better, working with Walloon Central Maine they worked with Bennington and the AMP is going to be warranted by Bennington and they have ordered the parts! If you were on the fence about Bennington this "can you believe it moment" sure has secured a long term advocate for Bennington for me. Walloon Central is working with Bennington to get me an actual warranty end date for my knowledge.
Thank you,
Jay
