If not, I'll ease my disappointment by going all WOT on that 200hp after it's break in period.   :p

Which is pretty much immediately with a Mercury. As I recall, every so long you're supposed to go WOT. Heck, we set an alarm to remind me.

I remember starring at the hour meter on mine. A millisecond after I could I goosed it and have been smiling ever since!

With a Verado you absolutely need to download these owners tips from www.veradoclub.com before you start (click at bottom of his posting). Whatever the dealer tells you, pay attention to this document first. These guys KNOW V'Rods like no other.

Verado Owner's Tips (the manual they didn't give you)

"For the 1st 2 hrs: up to 4500 and Wide Open Throttle (WOT) for 1 minute every ten minutes. Next 8 hours, any RPM, just avoid WOT for longer than 5 min. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU READ ON THE WEB REGARDING BREAK IN VIA AN AUTOMATIC “COMPUTER PROGRAM”. Make sure you are taking the engine up to wide open throttle for the time discussed above. Do not baby the engine, it needs the time at WOT to seat the rings correctly, a vital part of break-in. Engines that are “babied” during break in can “make oil” later in their life. Chances are if your oil seems to be moving up the dipstick, your engines are adding fuel to the oil which is a bad thing. Follow the owner’s manual procedure"

1+ on Tom's recommendation!

Downloaded and saved the document Tom.  Already a member of the Verado club.com, but hadn't explored it in a couple of months.  The document is very helpful.  I am also looking forward to reading through my owners manual.  I like knowing whats-what with my stuff.  Your help is much appreciated.
