We all love the summer, great weather, BBQ's. long days, sunsets and our favorite ofcourse Boating.

While on Benny the tunes are blaring like the warm summer sun.

I love the music I grew up with, it wasn't just music to my generation, it was a lifestyle a belief.

In 2014, I still listen to the music of Monterrey and Woodstock.

It was the music that changed the world a voice of a generation.

Unfortunately today another one of my Rock Icons has died

I wanted to leave a piece of his genius here and ask

Who do you listen to while enjoying those summer days and nights on the water

RIP

Joe Cocker

I just saw he passed on Yahoo. As for our summer toons (get it!) we listen to mostly country. My wife thinks I'm gay about Blake Shelton but the guy can sing. I'll listen to pretty much anything except that emo or imo yelling screaming music....if you can even call it music. Just remember that not everyone likes the same music as you. Hopefully my neighbor who blasts Shania Twain's-"Whose bed have your boots been under" from his wakeboard boat reads this.

With the Michigan connection

I would of guessed "Kid Rock "

All Summer Long

It was 1989, my thoughts were short, my hair was long

Caught somewhere between a boy and man

She was seventeen and she was far from in-between

It was summertime in Northern Michigan

Splashing through the sand bar, talking by the campfire

It's the simple things in life like when and where

We didn't have no Internet but man I never will forget

The way the moonlight shined upon her hair

And we were trying different things, we were smoking funny things

Making love out by the lake to our favorite song

Sipping whiskey out the bottle, not thinking 'bout tomorrow

Singing 'Sweet Home Alabama' all summer long

Singing 'Sweet Home Alabama' all summer long

Great Great Song That Is Played Here All Summer Long (lol)

Always remember before he went country

He Was Kiddddddddddddddddddddddd ROCK !!!

Detroit KID ROCK

Kid Rock Bawitdaba Woodstock 99 Must See!!!

I saw Joe many times,Grande Ballroom ,Cobo ( Mad Dogs & Englishmen ) East Town .,most recently Freedom Hill .

Though I like and listen to classic rock from the 60's to the late 70's, I am a hardcore Jimmy Buffett fan. Hence, Buffett music is the music of choice on the boat. It drives the wife crazy, but don't mess with my tunes. I don't know what I would do without Sat radio Margaritaville.

Cheers, Steve

Jack you are so fortunate to have seen Joe perform live

It is a memory I would cherish forever

Steve

Buffett is huge here my city home is near a huge concert venue and when Jimmy is there the Parrot Heads line up for miles

In the day Buffett used to do an entire  week at Pine Knob ,now its just one day at Comerica Park

My ITunes playlist for the boat is all over the place from the 60s [4 Tops] to now with quite a bit of Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello and older Springsteen

You can get away with listening to nature down there, nice big waters. The natural sounds of a Mid Michigan lake are that of the drunk male being obnoxious, through hall exhaust and waves lapping against the shoreline. If I could isolate the last one and only hear that I would have no need for music!! Have you ever been down the dora canal in Tavares FL? Check it out on youtube. It looks like something you would see in jurrasic park. Nature at it's best.

Margaritaville has great music which includes Blake Shelton's "Some Beach." Great song. Real partial to Zac Brown as well. My last boat was named after a Buffett song, "License to Chill." Wanted to name the Bennington, "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes." I have been to a few JB concerts. They are a kick. I enjoy Margaritaville in Vegas.

A few years ago, I was in St Croix. We were at a Marina for Dinner. I saw a large sailboat named, "Parrot Head," and assumed what music was played therein.

Cheers and Happy (and more importantly) Healthy Holidays to all,

Steve

A few of our favorites:

What a collection of tunes

I love the sound of nature but with the jet ski's and speed boats in the wake zone during the day , I have to say listening to some great tunes makes me enjoy the experience more.

Now we all know being on a Benny is not about Sailing

BUT

Hearing Christopher Cross's Tune sums up my feeling while being on the water

For those who love it as I do and those who may not know it

I think if you love the water you love this song

I like Buffet's "Boats to Build"!

We often listen to the FM radio while on board, which provides alternatives for others.

Pablo Cruise music seems to have that "on the water" feeling.

Otherwise any rock music.

Still my favorite !!

In your video Smitty one of the lines is "and take a Lake Norman Bass"  How you like that Carl, Daryl & Spin
