I have a 2020 Bennington SSBXP 22'. Recent guest got sun tan lotion on simtex vinyl seat fabric. The lotion stained the passenger seat. As recommended by Bennington, I used dawn dish soap and water to attempt to remove the sun tan stain. Nothing! Stain still exists. Any recommendations on how to remove the stain with some other cleansing solution?

Here is the phone number for Simtex 800 247 9901 ( Spradling ) perhaps they can help .
Suntan lotions is one of things not allowed on mine .

Suntan lotion stains can be a serious problem. I hope Spradling has some ideas, but there is a chance it wont come out. We have some threads specific to just sun tan lotion concerns and strategies. For example, we supply ALL sunscreen for guests if they want to use it lakeside. If they are boating, they have to use what we have, as we know it wont stain with how we use it. If they cannot/wont, well, no boating for them as I doubt they will assist with attempted stain removal or furniture replacement should it be permanent. Love our guests…but well, $$$$.

Good luck!

We have had no issues with Suntan Lotion staining seats, and we slather it on thick and frequent. However, we don't allow Tanning Lotions or Oils.

This! It comes down to “what’s in the lotion”. Oil based lotions tend to be the worse including tanning lotions. This covers a wide array of spray bottle sunscreen, particularly because of the chance of overspray in the wind let alone general use of it.

We only allow ours because we know they’re safe. We have a few different types of both lotion and spray to accommodate guests. We’ve never had a complaint with the system, probably because of the cost of sunscreen these days. :p

The spray options we provide are must be applied landside. On the boat we carry non-spray lotion options.

We have not had a problem with sunscreen and use the same system as you. No spray on products allowed on the boat. Can you share with everyone what brand products you use? Thanks!

When my white seats were so badly discolored my marina was going to swap out my seats I used Korkays rv cleaner. It removed all traces of any contaminates

It's ridiculous to lose sleep over the use of suntan lotion on boats. Just don't stand on the boat and start SPRAYING sunscreen. Cover your seats with towels, and lotion is then nothing to worry about. If I couldn't use it, I would have to sell our boat. Never, ever a problem on ours. We use Banana Boat Light as Air.

We use SunBum, CeraVe, Coola Organic, Shiseido, Ocean Potion.

Banana Boat Light as Air is the main go to, and what I use exclusively.

Runner up is Hawaiian Tropic Weightless Hydration. This is the secondary lotion we use, and my wife’s preference.

Anywhere from 30 to 50 spf versions simply dependent on what is in stock at the local stores.
