Is anyone having problems with Symtek upholstery?
I have light grey upholstery that stains from almost anything and the mooring cover ripped lengthways down the middle. The upholstery company I am using for repair demonstrated how the fabric tears easily in one direction so they are not confident the repairs will hold.
Purchased new in 2023, I am the original owner, dealership said no warranty coverage and recommended an aftermarket cover. I do not know the exact day the cover ripped but during the week it happened we had 1-1/2” of snow and it was parked outside.
Canvas Mooring Cover: My 2021 spends 5 summer months each year parked at the dock in 110+ degree heat, with monsoon rains and 40+ mph wind. No issues. Not sure the mooring cover was designed to support a snow pack!?, especially combined with the cold. Were the mooring poles still standing / extended when you found the cover ripped lengthwise? I wonder if they failed, then I could understand the split down the center. In any event, that 2 1/2 inches of snow, per Gemini, says 100 to 800 pounds (new powder to wet snow), with typical snow at 450 pounds (pending boat size).
Symtex: 4 kids and lot of eating and drinking and spilling and suntain lotion - minor issues with staining. We do spray down after a weekend of use, and use their cleaning guide promptly when we do spill (Dawn, 409 (or Fantastic), with a soft brush, circular pattern).
The cover by itself is not built to withstand snow cover, that’s for sure. What type of stains? Causes? Have the cleaning guidelines helped with clean up, or not so much?
