.  Well we turned 300 hours on the trusty 150 last weekend and it's got me to thinking about a new boat a few years down the road.  Granted our boat currently is about as close as you can get to a 2016 after the factory remodel (went in for warranty work) it received late last year.  We use our boat quite a bit and really enjoy relaxing out on the water and entertaining friends and family.

If we decide to go for new boat (might be in a year or so) it won't have anything less than a 150 on the back and will be at least a 22 foot tritoon with sps(like we have now) or an eps model.   Out of all the new boats at the show this year about the only thing I really liked was the 2 tone seats with the diamond stitched inserts.  The wife really liked the bamboo flooring (think that is the correct one) as it was lighter and would be a little cooler than the seagrass we currently have.  Power assist steering would be a good option as well.....not getting any younger and ease of steering would be a real bonus over just hydraulic we have now.  If you add up all the things we liked on the new boats verses what we have now it makes it very hard to spend the $$$ to run out and purchase a new boat for only a few upgrades that we like.

So here goes the million dollar question.  If you had a budget of 40K max to spend what would you boat of choice be?  Another Bennington or another brand......did I say that out loud?  A bigger motor and lower line boat possibly.

Not too sure you'd get much more than what you have with 40k budget. My 24SSLX was 45k with SPS and a 200. Has more options than some G series but it was another 12k to get to an esp/250 in a G series. I probably have the boat builder worn out soon!

My boat is in great shape for being 12 yrs. old.  I put the same equipment and motor that I have now into the boat builder and added............In floor storage, a double Bimini, and faux teak flooring. The total is in between $75000 and $80000. Well........I think I'll take care of what I have and make sure it is properly maintained for years and years to come.......

Actually there isn't anything wrong with our boat......we get compliments all the time on the colors we picked out.  Went to the boat builder website and it looks as if we got a smokin' deal back in '14 when we bought it new.....was right about 40K out the door without a trailer.  For a replacement now the cost has risen quite a bit......boat builder for the same 2250gsr boat comes right in at a msrp of just over 60K.

Looks like I'm keeping my boat for quite a while......at the current rate of inflation I should be making money on her in a few years :D :D

We'd be in a 22GCW. We keep watching the one at our dealer. We really want the rear loungers. Our 22RLi is very nice, and it does what we need it to do, but just wish we had more "lounging" space. Then I go onto the boat builder and I am quickly brought back to reality ......

Imagine the looks on others faces when you show up with a 2014 2275RCW with a wakeboard tower and a 2_0 horser hanging on the back!  If you scratch out the 5! Haha

Does the $40k include or exclude trade-in? A bigger motor on a lower line boat would be dissapointing for you.   You would have to deal with the inevitable quality issues with the lower end boat. I would also add that the boat builder back in April scared the hell out of me. I don't think there was one build that I put in front of my dealer that I didn't get 25 to 30 percent off MSRP, which made it nice. My next next boat ESP and 300HP motor.

Even at the 25-30% off the suggested msrp of 60k on the boat builder website it still puts a new same optioned boat as we have now at 42k + tax.   More than  the 40k we gave out the door  for that same boat back in '14.  If we traded the boat in even with still having factory warranty left on the boat and motor we wouldn't get enough to pay off our loan on the original boat.  We added the boat to the lake house on a home equity loan (hopefully paid off in another 5-6 years).

We should all stay away from the boat builder  .  I would just keep on enjoying the great boat that you have!

Don't I wish. I'd have the sweetest boat on the lake. Only problem is I couldn't get under 3 different bridges. Guess I'll have to pass ....  :p

Semp, you jump the bridges with 250hp, not go under them! I still get the smileys when we are on ours so no need for me to entertain replacement any time soon.

When I spec'd out a QX with windscreen, arch, just a few goodies, and the obligatory Verado 400R it was rapidly at $160k with the meter still spinning. Another reason to love the boat I already have ;-)

My boat as well TomS but I wouldn't need or want the 400 [or the payment so I love my as well............for now]
