The modification I appreciate most often

Of the many modifications I have made one stands out every time I use the boat. This modification is a covering system that allows me to cover the boat in three minutes. Key to the way it works is a portion of the cover is always attached to one side of the boat. When stowed the cover is rolled up around a roller tube/ridge pole. It lays cradled along the length of the gunnel. The prop rods are hinged to the ridge poll to eliminate loose parts. The cover clips have a ergonomic strap that makes attachment with high tension possible. This eliminates the need to dive under the top. I have used this system on two other boats. My current boat (shown) utilizes a foldable ridge pole so the rolled up cover can be hidden into a space that was underutilized. With a better covering system, I think more people would enjoy their boat more often.

Wow, that took some out-of-box thinking! Love it! So, how long does it take to cover?

So custom built or is someone manufacturing them? Custom cover designed to be used with the system? Great idea

I like to fiddle with my boat. Same cover that came with the boat. Webbing loops added to cover at clips. Ridge pole/roller tube attached to cover. Existing prop rods attached and rolled up with roller tube. For the roller tube I used old hang glider tubing. Any light weight tubing will do.

This year I saw a new commercially available boat covering system that is attached to the boat (see photo). Two years ago I saw another system made by Vision Marine (see link). Both systems cover with a push of a button but they may not be faster than my system using modified cover.

Attached photo shows my covering system applied to my previous boat. Note that with this application the rolled up cover when always attached to one side of the boat is always visible. This might be objectionable to some people. It was not for me because I loved the function. But for some…
