If you remember, looking for a life jacket for our daughter's husky at the boat show lead to the purchase of a 24SSBXP. We also had to spend $8000 on a fence so I don't have to get up and walk him in the morning when he visits. I can just open the door and let him out the back door.

So here is what the dog, and his "grandpa" got.

24SSBXP
150 HP

Panel - Midnight Black
Accent - Smokey Granite
Canvas - Midnight Black

Sandstone Pillowtop Diamond Pressed Upholstery w/ Driftwood Accent
Stainless Steel Swingback Keeper Rail
Table Upgrade - Graywood Trapezoid
Striker 4 Fish Graph
Vinyl Teak Slate Full Flooring
Sport Performance System - SPS w/Transom Fuel
Underdeck Wave Shield
Solid Keel (3 Tubes)
Sea Star Hydraulic with Tilt
In-Floor Storage
Battery - Single Switch
Stainless Steel Rub Rail
Docking Lights
Bennington Engraved Stainless Steel Cleat
Ski Tow Bar (Ext. Aft Deck w/Rub Rail)

Too funny.  For our 24' SSBXP we have the panels in Smokey granite, and the accent is the midnight black with the blackout package.  Somewhat similar direction all around.

Cannot wait to see pictures of yours once you have it.  Especially since we debated with your color choices but then flipped them around between the panels and accent.

We almost went blackout. We ordered everything but the color and went home to think about it. I told my wife to Order the color she wanted. After a half dozen combos, she decided to order white with the blue shatter graphics and left for the dealer. By the time she got home, it was the black/granite.

On top of everything else, there is the $3000 to convert the lift from a bow rider to a tritoon.

That's quite an expensive dog!!

That Bennington will win Best in Kennel on most any lake, congratulations

When my son visits with his dogs he told us, Mom and Dad you need a fence! Whatever! Ha!

Congratulations on the boat! Did you order from Lake Norman Marina?!?

Yes he did.

Guardrail, the neighborhood restrictions require an aluminum rail fence. Only part of the backyard got fenced. 400' at $20 a foot when you include gates. I wasn't expecting that much and was wondering if he was worth it. Told the fence guy, no way, but Mrs. Salad had other ideas.

Hopefully my price will make you feel better. A neighbor had to put in a dry creek bed to keep his beach from washing away. I feel better knowing he spent $14,000 for rocks.

I'm surprised that Duke let them do that. We wanted to put up a 2" retaining wall to keep the lake out of the yard and they said no. It was going above the rip rap.  :(

Carl, there was a drainage area going across his property that flowed to his beach.  He just used the rocks to reroute the drainage. But $14,000 of rocks?

Yes he did.

Carl and Big Kahuna, did you see the show on Travel Channel last night called Boat Buyer? They had a family that test drove 3 boats from Lake Norman Marina. A Colbalt 220 w/Volvo 270. A Caravelle Razor etoon, a fiberglass hull with a pontoon style deck and a 175 Merc. And a 22' S Bennington w/150 Yamaha.

This couple had small children (read young parents). The wife's first comment on the Benny was"this looks like a grandpa boat". Mrs. Salad asked me if we bought a grandpa boat. I told her if the shoe fits...

After talking about how great the Cobalt was, how fast and how stylish, they purchased the Bennington because it was roomy and luxurious.

Nope didn't see it. I'll see if I can find it someplace. Thx......

I saw that last night. After that comment I never would have thought they would have picked the pontoon.  Note that they actually purchased a different Bennington than the boat they test drove. They got a  24' blackout with a more sportier look to get away from having a "grandpa" boat.

I need to see if I get the Travel Channel. Sounds like an interesting show.

My Daughter and Wife wanted a fence for my daughter's dog at our lake house. I told them to dig the post holes and I would put up the fence (holes never happened) Also wanted a pontoon boat (got a Bennington ) easier to spend a lot of money on a boat than a little money on a fence.

Just watched the show on demand. It was the typical stereo typing of pontoons. And the deck boat looked like alot of bling. But with all the bling, the seats looked uncomfortable as hell. The family absolutely picked the right boat for their needs and desires. Only mistake they made as far as I could see, they didn't get on the forum to find out that they should have gotten a motor to match the max rating for the boat. We're here for the asking!

They will probably be good for PADS in  the future! OH WELL
