Spent the morning walking around Congressional CC in Bethesda, MD following Vijay Singh and his threesome. 5000000 million people around Tiger and his group. Forget that! Now we're in the clubhouse rooting for Team USA!!!!!!!!!!!! Too hot out there..........

Golf is not a very good spectator sport, other that sometimes you can get very close to the players.  This year I went to the Masters for a practice round and it was the first time that I have been to a golf tournament that I was not either playing in or was working the tourney.  Too old for all the walking necessary.

I hear ya about the walking..........We walked a few holes then got smart and picked a spot by the par 3 10th hole and watched all the players come through. Great vantage point! That hole is designed like the stadium style courses where the spectators surround the hole and also have a view of the finishing 18th hole. Have you ever played Congressional in your professional playing days?!?

Never did play Congressional, and I really didn't have many professional PLAYING days.  Most of my days were spent either in the pro shop, or on the lesson tee.  Other than qualifying for a few tour events (3), my competitive golf was at the local section level in the Chicago area.

Augusta is a tough course to walk and not the easiest spectator course. But it is heaven!

I was fortunate enough to play the course, many years ago, as a friend of mine was the Co Head Professional there for at least 30 years.  It definitely is a beautiful place and the Masters tournament at the particular time of the year, makes is extra special.

The Pro that I was an assistant under for four years, actually qualified and played in the Masters 2 times.  His finishes in the US Open got him in.  A huge accomplishment for a club pro, and much more difficult than it is for an amateur.
