I’m going to clean my toons before winter wrap up and have purchased Toon Brite after having it recommended by our local dealer. I’ve never used it before and wonder if anyone knows what will happen to my asphalt if I’m spraying and cleaning it on my driveway (really the only place I have other than heading to a local truck wash). Any thoughts or experience will be appreciated.

Is it petroleum based?

Wow good question. It was hear when we bought the place. It’s been resealed since and the product they used looked and smelled like an oil based product

In our previous home with an asphalt driveway. I spilled a small amount of gas filling my lawn mower. It ruined the asphalt in that spot and it had been sealed .

It is acid based not petroleum based!!!

Great question. I think keeping the asphalt wet underneath the boat would do the trick. I always make sure my trailer stays wet while using Toon Brite. Never noticed any detrimental effects on the trailer.

I've used Napa Aluminum Brightener every year for years to acid wash my toons. I do this with the boat parked on the asphalt street in front of my house. Have never seen one iota of damage to the asphalt. You should rinse your trailer well with plain water before you begin so the driveway under the boat should already be wet.
