My new pontoon will be in the water 24x7 (no boat lift) tied to the dock. I live on the Gulf of Mexico so with rising and falling tides I'm looking for something that will protect the boat around the clock.

This looks like an interesting product - albeit expensive - but if it will keep the boat from getting banged up I would have no problem spending the money.

Anybody know anything about this product? Thanks.

Yeah, I saw that. The last review (1/13/2012) stated that they replaced the plastic buckle with a "heavy duty metal buckle" that is much more secure. I'm going to call them and see what the deal is with the buckle.

Hmm, wonder if they could stop an Equinox? Haha :(

Watched the video and looks like it would do a good job but what I don't need is an even larger fender to store and it doesn't look like it would stay on while underway

No, I wouldn't want to leave it on - and in fact a bunch of reviews that I found while researching it said that they didn't stay on too well while underway. Manufacturer also doesn't recommend keeping them on while underway. They're 36" long when not extended, and I'd get two of them. Could most likely store them underneath one of the seats.

I have not picked up my Bennie yet and have been looking at fenders. I liked the Toonmate until I read the reviews and found they are not kept in place underway. Seems like a lot of fender to store.

Also looked at Taylor Made

And at Toon Fender

So far I am leaning toward the Toon Fenders because they are made to leave in place. They also appear adjustable enough to provide protection to your pontoons. Because of different dock heights I would think that a longer fender would be better. Here is an ebay site with some good pictures.

Does anyone have these Toon Fenders?

I did a ton of research on this to protect my new 2275 RCW. I ended up going with the Taylor Made product. I was able to secure some eye bolts just above the potion and under the floor using the existing pre-drilled holes and strapping the fenders to the eye bolt.

Has worked great! I put three on each side.

Let me know if you would like to see pics and I will take some this weekend.

mattcamp, I would love to see some pix

Would love to see the pics as well. Please post them. Thanks.

I posted the pics under my profile in a new album....I attached one to this post, limit of 500k.

Hey mattcamp, I can't see any other pics, do you have the folder set as private or public?

Hmm, here's a question, what if you had a short length of let's say 5" of flat nylon (same kind of material as like ratcheting straps that you hold stuff down with in a truck) and had 2 snaps installed on the top rail. One inside the rail and one in line on front of rail and had a little D-ring on one end to attach the rope from your bumper through. You could just snap them on and off, the male side of the snaps wouldn't seem out of place since there is already snaps all along for the playpen cover, do you think they would be strong enough? Not sure, that's why I thought 2 per bumper. Dunno, just a thought.
