Toons loose after new boat on water 4 hours

Good evening,

Just took sometime today with the boat in the driveway took look things over. ( Wave shields off at the moment)This is what I found:

1. All toon bolts were 1 to two turns loose 2. Wiring hanging kinda loose and needed to be wire tied to prevent chaffing. 3. Cooler in seat in right front corner drain plug not all the way thru. 4. Private room snaps out of place and needed to be relocated 4. Pylon mounts for stowing to far to the rear in private room/head... 5. Transom bolts turn plus needed. All the above I took care of myself because I figured I would to a better job/ the right way as I am the owner..... Must of been a Friday boat... The one thing that I really wanted to bring to all of your attention is that I only have 4 hours on this boat from Friday night only(break in time still). For all the toon mounting bolts to have settled/loosen a turn or two is of concern that I thing we all should be aware of. I am so glad the wave shields are off and that I checked and re tighten them before the shields are reinstall next week. Also found that transom needed a turn or so on some bolts. Anybody else notice this???????
 
Given that your dealer has been working below deck, I would guess that is the reason for some loose bolts. You are the first to have that issue since my time on here.
 
I guess i missed something here. Why are the wave shields off, what repairs are being made?  Otherwise, yours would be the first case of loose toon mounting bolts i have heard of as well. The factory uses air tools that are pre set to a specific torque value to attatch those bolts, so i don't see how that could have been missed at the factory?

I've had loose bolts. All my cleats worked loose. Other bolts were loose too, but I don't remember which ones other than they were under the boat and pretty sure they went through the wood. I attributed it to plywood shrinkage. No big deal.

Cleat bolts were a couple turns each. One cleat was actually loose and would move some when tying off, which is how I noticed it.

Glad I have the wave shield. Easy to work around.

Obviously from your other post...the dealer started to prep for the toon that was to be added.  When you wanted to get the boat out they forgot to tighten things back up and as we say around here..."And There Goes Your Leg"

I installed me one of those wave shields, too. I haven't had the first boater wave at me since. They really work!   :blink:    :D

There should be no reason to remove or loosen outside tubes to install express tube.

Doesn't mean it didn't happen.  We can only assume.  I have not belonged to the forum that long but I have read the majority of the most recent post and I have not read anything about other tubes being found loose.  This, to me anyway, would mean there would have to be some other reason.  The purchaser and marina agreed to buy/sale the boat but only if the marina would add the center tube.  It was stated that the marina removed the wave shield in preparation of receiving the tube it had supposedly ordered from Bennington.  So it is logical to think that they could have also loosened up the two tubes thinking it would make the installation of the center tube easier. 

I would like to think that they, being the marina, would have noticed the loose tubes upon receipt and inspection prior to being sold.  Not necessarily the facts as we are all making assumptions.  Therefore the only logical assumption would be the marina did the loosening in prep for the installation of the center tube.

This is all speculation on my part of course and I can not be held accountable in court for this theory.  So please, please, do not subpoena me to testify.  :)
