I just took delivery on a 2275 GCW. with 150HP and SPS package.

I would like to purchase a trailer but I am confused as to correct specs and size.

Most trailer dealers in my area are not familiar with pontoon boats...even less so with tritoons.

I know how important it is to make sure a pontoon boat is supported properly (ref my Oct 2015 post) !

Here is my appeal to other 2275 tritoon owners...can you please share with me what your trailer make and model happens to be?

If you have any recommendations on favorite brands or features, please feel free to chime in.

THANK YOU>

Jim

I don't have the specs with me, I am at work currently, but our dealer set us up with our trailer when we bought ours.  It's a phoenix trailer and we really like it!   http://www.phoenixtrail.com/trailermodels.html

EDIT:  Our trailer is the PT-24-4HD

I'll have to look at the numbers when I get home.  Have some pictures in my gallery.

Use the search function as this topic has been discussed many times here.

I've got a MarineMaster trailer that came out of Tullahoma, Tennessee.  They used to make trailers for many brands of boats--before many boat companies either went out of business in 2008 or consolidated production in NE Arkansas.

Since I have the Express Tube, I got by without having the bunk boards on the center toon.  You'll need the center toon support for your SPS hull, however.  You'll also want four 14" wheels/tires.

Bolster boards running the length of the trailer between the toons is preferable to keep you straight when putting it on the trailer.

And I would certainly suggest you have surge brakes on the trailer.  My trailer didn't come with brakes, however I seldom tow it anywhere.  I have a F250 diesel truck with heavy suspension and brakes setup for towing and it handles my boat and trailer fine.

I am having mine custom built as we speak by Owens & Sons out of St. Petersburg, FL.  It is all aluminum, tandem with 10" stainless steel/maxx cadmium disc brakes with SS pads on all wheels, Powerwinch RC30, and steps on the front of the trailer to allow boarding from the bow, and spare tire mounted to the trailer.  My pontoons were 77.0" port-to-starboard (on center), with 38.5" between port-center pontoon, and 38.5" between starboard-center pontoon.

Carpet on bunks is a UV stabilized “BCF” olefin polypropylene, which will allow the boat to easily slide on/off.

$5,500 out the door.

By all accounts of people I've spoken with, these are the guys to go with.  I know people from as far as NC have come down here to buy from them, as well as many, many people from Florida.

Pay once, cry once.

I'll post up pics when I get it.  Will be ready by July 6th, but I'll be out of town until the 11th.

My boat is longer at 25' but it's a tritoon.  I bought a Loadrite brand trailer in 2011 and absolutely (still) love it.  I have 2 photos of it in my album.  I'd post them here but ever since this website format changed I have no idea how to do it anymore.
