What size transom saver should i use for my 2020 SV20 with 70 hp Yamaha. My trailer is a First Load 20ft trailer.
Attwood makes a 27 - 36 in. or a
31 - 40 in.

Unless they changed something, transom savers aren't necessary when trailering. We bought our 2021 23LSLD with a Merc 200 last year and the dealer told us not to use transom savers.

Follow the owners manual. If it says to use one, I would recommend using one.

In your case Yamaha instructs to trailer with the motor all the way down if there is sufficient ground clearance to do so. If there is not a transom saver should be used.

As to what length, again Yamaha instructs you to refer to the dealer but in the absence of that I would think the proper length depends on how "sufficient clearance" is defined. If there are only a few inches with the motor down you might be hitting speed bumps or RR tracks. Many bass guys just put the motor up halfway but alot depends on the transom height, engine length (20" vs 25"), trailer, etc.
