IMG_2103.jpegHello, I just purchased a 2016 21SLX saltwater series with a 115 Yamaha SHO. Boat has the sport toon with strakes on only the sport toon, with a 13.5x15p solas stainless prop. I am running 5300-5400 wot with light load about 31-32mph. Reading online I am seeing that I need to get up around the 6000 rpm range so I ordered a Solas 13.5x13 prop. Just curious what other 21 sx owners with similar setup are running to see if I’m making the right move or should I keep my current prop.

I have the same boat but 2017 and the majority of us are running this prop and hub:

What RPM are you turning. I am reading that the 4 strokes have potential to get into a state of lugging which causes fuel to slip through rings into the oil system if you are not in the 6,000 rpm range at WOT. I am happy with my top speed and boat performance with the current solas 13.5x15 but concerned about the 5300-5400 rpm WOT causing issues.

I ran close to 6,000 rpm with my Yamaha F115 (non-vmax).

I get 6200 with 2 people onboard. This prop makes the boat jump/plain out faster and better control at slower speeds. Top speed is around 32. I typically cruise around at 4200 rpm's at ~20mph.. Here is another members post about them:

Thanks, i will have to give it a try.
Additionally, I still stand behind that propeller. I endorse the low speed maneuverability and its more than adequate performance for the midrange horsepower (used to be a 115 back in the day! LOL) for 2 and 3 log base 21's and they are very price competitive. These props prefer to be a little "tucked in" from a trim perspective but it is all about how you distribute weight in the boat. My 2 log runs much better with the weight in the rear than towards the front which is intuitive. She is the fastest boat in the race of the turtles. KING OF THE TWO LOGS I DECREE!
