2023 R23' When it rains I get water in my bimini boot. Weather the frame is up or retracted in the down position. So much it pours out both sides when using the boat after a rain.
Also if I leave the Bimini top up when it rains I get a huge puddle between the back 2 frames . I have the quad couch floor plan I also get water in the seats storage that puddles and doesn't drain.Never had a prob with the other Bennington's that I've owned.

Have you spoken to you dealer about a replacement?

This sounds extreme with the bimini boot problem and should be taught and not pooling when deployed.

I wonder if there is not enough tension on the Bimini frame and something needs an adjustment? Not sure that would also take care of the water pooling up inside the bimini boot. Have you discussed it or shown the issue to the dealership?

Have not reported it to dealer. I haven't had much luck with dealer. Boat cavitated bad when delivered, also simrad was never set up and still doese't work properly have no clue how much fuel I have or speed of boat or water temp

What solved the cavitation? Did they change the motor mount height or prop, or was it just a matter of trimming the motor more? That can be a slightly more common issue initially as one dials in a newer boat. Simrad issue sounds more like some of the set up for it wasn’t completed during dealership rigging of the boat. These should not be issues you have to live with, especially with a newer R model.

I would gently recommend reaching out again to the dealership about this problem, and any remaining issues like completing either the Simrads install, or its set up. These should be things they rectify for you. If they are not responsive, perhaps reaching out to Bennington directly as a next step.

Cavitation went away when they came out with a different prop we tried and made it worse. So we put the original prop back on and that stopped it.

Fellow Michigander eh? Where are you located? We’re on Houghton Lake. I can appreciate waiting until the off season to get things straightened out. Been in that situation a few times ourselves.

I was going to comment the only thing right in your pictures was the Detroit Lions pendant hanging from the back of it. We’ve never left our bimini up in the rain aside from a quick trip to dock when unexpectedly caught in the rain on the lake. That certainly is puddling up there.

Bimini Water: I would conclude the bimini frame is not adjusted to tighten up the canvas enough. I have to use a rubber mallot to get the right tension, just a few small taps but enough to make a big difference. A water repellent on the boot might also help, especially around the seems.

Yes a Michigander North of Baldwin on Wolf Lake. I normally don't leave or have my Bimini top up ever. Just left it up because we have been using it daily and it's been intensely hot.
