We're getting water through the floor just outside the door to the under helm storage. It seems water must be hitting the cross members (no skinning) and making its way through to soak the carpet.

Dropped it off at dealer this AM and he had "never heard of this happening before".  Hopefully they can fix it either way.  Anyone else have this happen?

happens all the time. helm is not water tight, cupholders leak into that area.

space under helm is wet most of the time our boat is in the water.

Oddly, the wet spot is outside the helm storage door. It's dry under the helm itself.

I've got the underskinning but it seems I've read on this board where others have run into the same problem when water spray is pushed between the plywood seams. Not sure if there really is a solution other than adding the skin. Good luck!

Our cupholders have tubes running down through the helm, and out below the deck.

Looks like a DYI solution would be to use the silicon adhesive caulking along the plywood seams. That stuff seals great and sticks like glue.

I believe the seams fall centered on the cross members. Where my seams fall, there is a curved plastic shield to block spray from hitting the joint at the crossmember/plywood meeting edge. You could run a nice bead of silicone along that edge though and that "should" seal the joint where they meet.

Friends of ours have the same issue with a wet floor on their 20 foot pontoon with a 90 on the back.  If they are just trolling and idle speed only the floor stays dry but throttle it up a little and the floor gets wet right in the middle between the helm and the port side seat.  Dealer tried to fix it in 2014 and whatever they did worked for the rest of '14 and all of '15 but the wet floor problem came back again this year mid summer.  If it was just caulked up back in '14 is must be in a spray zone and it fell out over time due to be splashed all the time.  Two tube boat with no under skin creates quite a bit of spray down the center (even with a 90).  They are thinking that their boat might be making the trip back to elkart if the issue can't be figured out soon by the dealer.

Get the underskinning.  Not just to stop the water leak it really provides a better ride and is well worth the money

With our 22 and no underskinning with a heavy load water would come up at the table hole plate. Not an issue with the new boat.
